I just E-mailed Club Penguin and they say this is what the Fashion Show is about,
The Fashion Event is shaping up to be really interesting. It isn't like other Parties on the island, and thats why we haven't included any free Party items to collect. The Underwater Expedition party has only just finished, and our party penguins wouldn't have had enough time to put on a new party so quickly, so unfortunately the Fashion Event couldn't be a full party. Because the Fashion Event isn't a party, you won't be able to get any Party Stamps while it is on. Except for Cadence.
We chose to have a Fashion Show on the island, because we know that a lot of penguins have been really wanting one. However, we didn't know how to make an entire party out of just one Fashion Show. So instead we thought that penguins would really enjoy a small event inbetween parties that they could join in when they wanted to and then go about their normal island life when they wanted to have a change! What do you think of this idea?
So it is only a party in one room so we can enjoy the island it's normal way!
